Gale Legal Forms: Provides a wide selection of state-specific (and multi-state) legal forms across the most popular legal areas. Includes real estate contracts, wills, pre-marital agreements, bankruptcy, divorce, landlord tenant and many others. Also included is a comprehensive attorney state directory and a dictionary of legal definitions explained in laymen's language.

 

 

Small Business Resource Center: Search this database to learn how to start, finance or manage your small business. Resources include sample business plans, how to guides, articles and websites.

 

 

HAPL & Community Events 

Local Author: Just in time for holiday cooking and holiday giving!  Join us on Tuesday December 8th at 7:00 PM when local author, Ardith Merten, discusses Cooking with Mom, her new cookbook based on hundreds of family recipes.  Copies will be available to purchase and a book signing will follow the presentation.

Holiday Used Book Sale: The Friends of the Library is sponsoring another great book sale on Saturday November 28th from 9 AM until 1:00 PM in the Old Library. 

Thanksgiving Craft Time:  The Hart Area Public Library will be holding another craft-time on Saturday November 21st at 11:00 A.M. when we will be creating art projects for Thanksgiving. Kids will learn new crafts and take home their creations.  All supplies will be provided. This is a free program but does require registration, and is perfect for elementary school children over 7 years of age. To register please contact the HAPL at 873-4476.

          

StoryHourBeginning September 25th, StoryHour will be held at the Hart Area Public Library at 1:00 PM every Friday that Hart Public Schools are in session.  Mrs. Lee Ann Kenyon returns for her last year as program director. StoryHour is an excellent first group experience for young children between the ages of 3 and 5 years. 1:00 PM every Friday that Hart Public Schools are in session.  Each story hour will include stories, songs, finger-plays, a craft and a take home worksheet.  Parents and caregivers are encouraged to stay with their children to help them become good listeners and also to help them learn the songs and work on the crafts.

Hart Community Performing Arts Series (see full schedule):  The Arts Series began its 11th season in October and will once again bring fine artists from across the country to Oceana County.  The series is a community project of the Hart Public Schools and is supported by its many sponsors and patrons. That support has allowed the Hart Community Performing Arts Series to become one of the most successful series in Michigan and has allowed thousands of area students and to experience live performances of classical music, jazz, dance, and vocal music.

Video Professor TutorialsCheck out the new collection of easy-to-use computer tutorials donated by Video Professor and improve your computer skills.  Learn the basic concepts of home computer use including: Windows operating systems, wireless networking, specific software programs such as Word, QuickBooks, Excel, Photoshop, and more.  These are CD-ROMs and require playing on your personal computer.

 

Legal eBooks: Got a legal question? Need a law form? Getting answers about legal matters just got faster and easier at the Hart Area Public Library with the recent acquisition of self-help legal eBooks.  The legal guides may be accessed on the computers in the library or HAPL card holders with Internet connections may access full book content at any time of the day or night. Do a title search for "Consumer Legal Guides" to bring up all of the titles. To view the legal eBook collection from home or work patrons with an HAPL card must first establish a free eBook account, a step that usually takes only five minutes but must be done in the library.

 

MeLCat Online Service:  Patrons may now place direct requests for materials not held by the HAPL from another Michigan library through MeLCat.  This service is free and easy to access from home, school, or business.  Place online requests and you will be notified when the items are ready for pick up at the HAPL.

 

MeL Presents NoveList to Find Books!  MeL is pleased to present NoveList, a tool to help librarians and the public find great books. Not only can you search by author, title, and series but NoveList allows you to search for key elements of a plot, select book length and reading level, and find books to match. You can also browse lists of recommended books by genre, reading level, and award winners. Check out NoveList on MeL!
